“Ramada - a real disappointment.”

Room 111 - carpet hadn't been vacuumed and was littered and filthy, AC didn't work, cockroach running across the carpet, tried to move the nightstand so I could use the outlet behind and it was stuck to the carpet with a large wod of gum. When we went to the front desk to ask to be moved to another room found the lobby door locked and the phone outside the lobby didn't work so had to bang on the door for service. Was moved into 119 - thank you for the working AC! The phone didn't work in this room so had to call the 800 number of Ramada using my cell in order to contact the front desk to let them know the AC was working there, no light bulb in the nightstand lamp had to borrow one from the TV stand lamp. Do not understand why there are no towel bars or towel rings in the dressing area where the sink is so a person might drape a hand towel there instead of dropping it on the vanity top. Weird. The sheets and pillow cases were all wrinkly and made it seem as if they had been slept on and not changed....I threw the blankets off to inspect for hair but found none. It still gave me the sense of being used. Requested an extra pillow for the bed and was told "I don't know where to find one or if there are any." at least when we moved into the other room we were able to take the pillows from 111 with us. When making the reservation I made sure to book at a place that said it had internet in the guest rooms....this said it did but it didn't - no hardwire hookup, nothing. The heated spa was not heated so couldn't sit there to relax. While having a bite to eat in the morning we were the only ones in there other than several employees eating, milling around, talking in Spanish and hanging around sitting at the tables. I do not expect to stay at a place and have the breakfast area used as an employee lounge. We decided to change the channel on the TV while having our coffee using our laptops and the remote didn't work, opened it up and there were no batteries in it. Ridiculous stuff but enough to discourage another stay here or at another Ramada. Very unprofessional with a real lack of customer care pride. Management at this place is lacking: training, maintenance upkeep, professionalism.
