“emberassment to the Ramada name!!”

My wife and I recently chose your hotel chain in Harrison Hot Springs, BC, Canada to celebrate our wedding anniversary, our experience, however, was far from satisfactory!Originally we had booked the honeymoon suite several weeks in advance, less than a week before our special weekend we were notified that the honeymoon suite was under construction and would not be finished in time for our stay. To compensate we were offered an executive suite with a "view" of Mt. Cheam and a complimentary breakfast, we accepted the offer as there was not enough time to research another hotel or to change our dates. Upon arrival we checked in and found the only parking was pay parking or a complimentary lot in a back alley behind an old restaurante. We proceeded to our room to find it with all the windows wide open and the heat off. After turning on the lights, closing all the windows, and turning the heat on we noticed black mould grwing on one of the window sills and the paint was cracked and pealing, now looking around the room we noted there were cobwebs in the corners, the furniture was chipped and showing it's age and the decore was severely outdated. Normally these items are not an issue in a $80/night room.....for $170/night this is completely unacceptable!!! We sat our freezing cold room for about 30 min trying to decide if we should cut our losses and try another hotel, however, we chose to stay and make the best of it. Once our room was warm we decided to make use of the hot tub and steam room on our floor, we checked all the cupboards and drawers in the room and there were no robes or slippers, a basic ammenity in most hotels, we phoned front desk and asked for some robes and 45min later they arrived....with no appology. After returning from the spa we went to check what activities were available in the area for the evening and there was no WiFi in our room. After an excellent dinner at rockamole's we returned to our room and realized we had forgotten to look at the breakfast menu, we phoned front desk and we were told there would be a menu delivered to our room at 8:00 the following. we awoke in the morning to find the power out, after waiting for an hour for the back up power to kick in (which is non exsistant at this location) we decided to just end the horrible experience and go home, upon check out no appology was attempted for the power outtage nor was there any offer of some sort of menial gift or coupon for the inconvenience. I then informed the front desk clerk of what our experience had been and he informed me there would be an adjustment to the price of the room.All these seemingly minor inconveniences are alone not a huge deal, but given the price, the location, and the reputation of The Ramada this experience was completely unacceptable!!! I have had better service and ammenities for $60/night at an independant hotel beside the highway!!
