We made reservations months in advance, knowing we would need a dog friendly place to stop between home (WI) and our vacation destination (FL), and Ramada Cartersville fit the bill. We booked online five months before our stay, and when we arrived, the guy manning the front desk informed us that he hadn't slept for three days and behaved in a way that made my husband and I not only feel unwelcome and as if we were inconveniencing him by checking in, but also worried that, after a twelve hour drive and long standing reservations, we may not have a room. Finally, he told us he was going to put us on the left side of the hotel because the owners wouldn't like if we stayed on the right (??). This made very little sense to us, but since he didn't seem terrifically stable, and because we were too exhausted to find a Days Inn (also dog friendly), we just went with it. If we'd had kids with us, we would have gone somewhere else. The room was what you'd expect for $60/night. Nothing special, fairly clean. The toilet plumbing squealed for a solid two minutes every time it was flushed. Not the sort of place you'd want to stay more than one night, but serviceable for a pit stop. The whole experience just felt a little weird, and we left an hour earlier than planned in the morning. Overall, if you're looking for an overnight pitstop right off the highway that accepts pets, try a Days Inn. We had much better luck (and consistency) with that chain than Ramada.
