“A bad experience”

We have to be in LA for three nights in January 2013. From the Ramada web site, the picture didn't look bad, plus with the 20% discount for staying three nights, ($92*3 ~= $277 after tax) sounds like a terrific bargain.As the old saying, you get what you paid for. When we arrived at the motel (not a hotel at all), there was a sign (from 11/2012, the hotel only provides heat). in other words the AC does not work. Should have backed out immediately but we got there late and thought to give it a try.We changed two rooms as they were just two small and settled in the 3rd one. The night was absolutely terrible as the heat was just too much and suffocating. We opened the window the next day and saw piles of pigeon feces out side the window. Between the pigeons noise and constant car rushing in-and-out, banging doors etc,we were not able to rest at all.The front desk can offer no help. Some front desk person initially refused to honor the 20% for 3 nights, but after our insistence and being ready to move on to another hotel, he cooperated with the 20% discount for the two nights we stayed.The breakfast the SPOT restaurant is another terrible experience. The swiss cheese in the omelet was not fresh and had a funny smell. The so-called orange juice had a very weird chemical taste in it. We basically forwent our breakfast. $16 were wasted.I remembered seeing another review stating only cold air blowing all night. I confronted the front desk with such and the explanation we got is: since there is just central air, only cold air in summer and heat in winter are offered. Hotel guests cannot switch from one to another.We did leave after the second night. I would not recommend this place at all, unless you like noise, and do not mind extreme suffocating heat in winter and (being cold in summer). Do not eat in the SPOT restaurant.
