“QUITE UPSET!”

Having stayed at the hotel just a few weeks earlier with a good experience, I expected the same. Not so! Thursday night, there was much noise in the adjoining room. Before we left early for meetings, we informed the room steward that she need not need to clean the room but we DID need new towels which she said she would bring. We did not arrive back till after dinner to our room. I had just eaten and evidently something did not agree with me and I needed in the room quickly to use the toilet. NEITHER ONE OF OUR ROOM KEYS WORKED! My husband went all the way to the downstairs lobby to find out the problem. In the mean while, I found I could not wait and tried to get back downstairs and locate a public bathroom, which I did not do so in time! How upsetting! I went back to the room and my husband was just arriving with the keys. I told him my horrible situation and he told me the desk clerk said the strip must have got messed up on both cards. NO WAY---BOTH OF OURS! My guess--someone had accidently checked us out. We went in the room and we both smelled someone had been smoking. This was really upsetting because we purposely chose a non smoking room because my husband has given up smoking. He went back to the desk to tell them and the desk clerk gave some flip statement and never bothered to even come up to check the smoke smell out. He said we could change rooms. When my hasband came back to tell me, I was already livid because NO towels had been brought and I needed to get a shower to clean up and could not go changing rooms. Back to the desk he went for the 3rd time!! This clerk could have cared less about all our problems. He gave my husband towels and I got my shower and was in no mood to change rooms. Truthfully I wanted to leave but went to bed as it had been a long HARD day, only to arise to a continental breakfast lacking because the server said the delivery truck had not brought food. I got an email from the manager on Monday stating she was sorry and noone was to smoke and if they were found, they would be charged $100. What does that do for all we went through? NOTHING! She addressed NONE of my other problems only stating if I returned again, she would perhaps give a discount. WHO WOULD WANT TO GO THERE AGAIN!!!! I have used RAMADA most of the time when we travel but right now I see many hotels calling instead. HELP or you will lose my business forever!
