“This probably isn't the right choice”

  , Lakeland
I'm not a picky traveler. Make it clean and safe with the amenities you advertise and I'm OK with it. This place failed to meet my expectations. A year ago when I stayed here it was a decent property I thought, except for the very limited, low quality breakfast. This year my first room did not have a working phone and I found a hair-like thing in the towel stack. The front desk staff was very friendly and did everything they good to help. They offered to move me rooms. The second room did not have a security chain latch. Just a single dead-bolt lock. It looked like it had broken and management had failed to repair it. This property is going to fall into disrepair if management doesn't start investing in upkeep. The landscaping was not well taken care of and the breakfast had actually declined in quality from stay in April. Although I don't like the thought paying more to stay elsewhere, it's not likely that I will stay at this location again. The chair in the one room had a giant rip that was surely obvious to housekeepers, but was unresolved. There was also a pretty strong odor in the first room when I entered and the second room that they moved me too didn't smell the greatest either. Again, I must repeat that I'm not all that picky when I stay somewhere. It seemed like with a little effort by management, this place could be a decent affordable stay. Customers vote with their feet! If you can afford it, I would highly recommend you find another place to stay as well. There are more negative comments I could leave, but I will stick the basics. The friendly staff who did their best to try to help me in my situation were the best part of the stay. The lady at the front desk was equally grossed out when she heard their was a hair-like substance in my towels and she voluntarily moved me to an open room when she couldn't resolve the phone issue. So, I am giving their service high marks, but its still not worth staying here.
