“Embarassing/Filthy”

I was very surprised to see how run down this hotel was. i was booking a room for parent weekend and most well known hotel chains were booked for the weekend. i usually stay on campus, and because they were already sold out i thought i would get the same amenities at the Ramada. Unfortunately from the first moment i walked in the door the hallway smelled like old musty carpet. The person at the desk was very nice and i was hopeful that it wasn't going to be that bad. Our room was less than sub par. It too smelled like mold and mildew. The carpet was wet under the air conditioner, the carpet felt sticky under my shoes throughout the room and there were no accessible outlets to charge my phone or laptop. The bathroom was a catastrophe as well. the door did not close all the way, the the toilet had an old manufacturers sticker peeling off the side of the commode and the shower looked like it had mold in the panels on the walls and where it met the tub. The room itself was dirty with at least an inch of dust on the lamps by the bed and on t.v. had wires hanging from the back of them. Everything about the room, down to the iron and ironing board felt cheap and old. i was appalled and tried to get another room, but no luck. I then tried to book another hotel room somewhere else but to no avail as everything within a 10 mile distance was booked. I felt like i was in a sleezy motel room, dirty and embarrassed. i am shocked that Ramada has put its good name onto such a run down facility.
