“My GABF week staying at the Ramada”

  , Santa Ana
Sure our room key never worked and getting home between 12 and 2am meant we attempted to insert and remove the key about a dozen times before begrudgingly waiting for the elevator for 3-5 minutes to come to our floor (just take the stairs - you're in Denver, you could use the exercise), just to take us to the front desk so they could give us another key that would only work once. But honestly, the amount of money I paid for this room for a week, a very expensive week mind you (GABF stole all my money, with my direct permission of course), made me exceedingly happy considering how understaffed yet pleasant the hotel staff was. My roommate for the week was able to take the shuttle to and from downtown all week while I was working my life away drinking beer for a minimum of 12 hours a day. The location is just outside the hustle and bustle of downtown, which is actually nice, because at night, once you're done festing, all you want to do is a.) drunk-snack or b.) sleep. I had the best (vacation) sleep of my life at this hotel - no distractions (besides the dinging of the elevator at all hours of the night; our room was right next to it), no fancy linens or towels or mints on the pillows. This is a 'I need a good place to sleep shower and... well the other s- thing you do in your hotel room.' The drive to downtown during the weekday morning traffic took about 10-15 minutes tops, on the weekend, I can't really remember how long it took, but it was definitely less. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant mostly because I was terrified to go in there, we never ate the complimentary breakfast because there are far better options downtown. Our original room was on the 4th floor, but the 4th floor is half smoking and half non-smoking rooms - which means, most rooms on the 4th floor probably reek of cigarettes; I instantly requested a new room and within minutes the blonde front desk girl came upstairs and delivered new room keys to us herself. Our new room, didn't smell. It was awesome. My nose is terribly sensitive to cigarette smoke, so maybe if you aren't as sensitive the 4th floor won't bother you. The night club is obnoxious. I think Thursday-Saturday night it was blasting hip hop or hispanic music; I was too tired to notice. Fortunately, on the 3rd floor, I couldn't hear the music at all, but I'd imagine if your room was on the 1st or 2nd floor you'd have a different experience. When I return to Denver, there's a good chance I'd pick this hotel again.
