“How is this hotel still carrying the Ramada flag?”

  , Golden
This hotel has been going downhill for years with apparently little concern for maintenance. The restaurant amangement is unconcerned about cleaniliness, but that can be ignored by simple avoidance. Because of an event hosted as the hotel, we have stayed at the facility for two to three days every year for over twenty years. When it switched from Holiday Inn to Ramada, we hoped conditions would improve. It has gotten worse! Much worse! This years' features included a toilet with a piece missing, a ceiling vent that had not been cleaned in years and a shower control escutcheon on the verge of falling off. We wondered, is there no maintenance person who knows how to run a Phillips screwdriver? On the other hand, the pillows and mattress seemed new and we appreciate the effort. Two breakfasts and one dinner in the restaurant were okay. One dinner was, with no close second, the absolute most repulsive meal I have ever even thought about eating. (I didn't.) The urinal in the men's restroom has not seen brush and bleach in years. The event that we attend will probably be held there next year, but we will visit before making reservations. Unless noticeable improvements are obvious in the common areas, we will stay elsewhere. Which is too bad; we'd really rather stay at the Ramada, but it is just too seedy. While managment may not notice the decrepitude, surely an inspector with Corporate should. Please, please, please, send someone to check this place out. Oh yeah. Only about 75% of the TV channels advertised on the in-room card actually existed. Really?
