“Mini vacation”

My husband researched on line before making our reservations and felt that all "looked good" as we were not planning on spending a lot of time in our room. But did expect a nice and clean place to sleep and rest. Upon arrival walking into the lobby was a bit of a startle to us as the lobby was in complete shambles. Even though construction was under way there should have never been packaged foods and snacks laying out on a table that had "construction" dust all over them. It started us off thinking of the cleanliness of the whole hotel and not just the lobby. Will admit the rooms after we entered them were okay even though the toilet seat wasn't attached properly. The beds were comfortable and the room was fairly cleaned. But after the first night & the room being touched up the tissue box was empty and never refilled along with the toiletries. The breakfast the second morning we were there was next to horrible. The tables and counters were filthy and I believe the maintenance man had to come with a very terrible looking cloth to wipe the tables after we asked them to be cleaned. This whole breakfast thing was really not good. Needless to say the second day we had coffee and the third morning we skipped the whole thing. It was a very good thing that we got a very descent rate on the room but as we were told before we even got there that with the rate we received on line we would not be eligible to back out of the stay. All in all as I said the beds were okay and it was quiet but the rest of the package left a lot to be desired. Some of the questions I could not answer as with the state of the hotel there was not enough of description areas to comment.
