“fourth of July fiasco”

The Ramada in San Diego on Roscrans is NOT customer/user friendly. We were loyal customers for 5 years; going yearly to spend the night and watch fireworks on the 4th of July. Our 2 adult kids and their two kids would come for the late afternoon/evening for swimming and pizza and leave after fireworks. We had a glitch or an issue for the last three years straight. I even wrote a complaint last year, and even though the complaint was never resolved satisfactorily, we decided to give them another chance this year. But yet again we were let down and received only excuses from the staff. 1st year of the last 3, we were accused of "having too many people" staying in the room...even after we had explained they weren't staying! 2nd year of the 3, we were harassed about "drinking" and being too loud...we don't drink and we a baby with us...so we weren't drunk or loud.. This past year, my son decided to also rent a room. Even after reserving the two rooms well in advance; and being reassured it would be our usual room and the one next door to it...we arrived to discover that was NOT the case. Not only were we not next door to one another, the room we had reserved was NOT the one they gave us. On top of the fact we were told one thing about the rate when we reserved it and then changed it when we arrived and it was higher than anticipated. After bringing this to the manager's attention, we were assured we would be compensated on our rate when we checked out..."because you are such good customers and we don't want to lose your business..." That did not happen, we ended up paying full price. We will NEVER go back there again, and will make sure others are aware of their lack of customer service and unprofessionalism.
