“We choose this hotel for its location and rate. We ended...”

We choose this hotel for its location and rate. We ended up paying more than we wanted to and got less than we paid for! The hotel itself is older. Upon arrival, the hotel looked empty. The manager who checked us in was very nice and polite. For this particular location, I requested a inside room. As we passed through the interior of the hotel, the air was smoothering hot. Once we reached the room, it appeared clean, but the smell of a wet floor filled the room. The room did have a humidifier, but was not on before we entered the room. We turned the air on and the humidifier on, but the mildewy smell lingered. The remote for the tv did not work. It was an older box tv. Resting on the bed, we look up and see huge roaches crawling up the wall. One roach had a baby attached to its back. The bathroom was not the cleanest and also had roaches. We did not complain or request another room due to 1-we were there due to a relative having out-patient surgery and our relative was resting in bed, 2-assuming the remainder of the rooms were similar in shape. We ended up paying $65.00 for the one night, but I felt like the room was worth the rate of $49.00. If we knew the room situation, we would have went the extra distance to the Microtel down the interstate for the same rate and nicer facilities. In our opinion, (this is for any hotel/motel) - the facilities may be older, but there is no excuse for cleanliness. Especially when you are carrying a well known name such as Ramada, because the hotel represents the company.
