“I had a late check-in (after 9pm), but the staff member...”

I had a late check-in (after 9pm), but the staff member checking me in was very friendly and efficient. The room itself (with 1 queen bed) was on the small side, but it would have comfortably fit a couple and some luggage. The room was relatively clean - other than the soap scum residue surrounding the sink faucet knobs. After checking out the room, I found the promised microwave and refrigerator hidden away in a set of floor cupboards. The bathroom had a small window in the place of a vent and a shower stall (comfortably for one person) that had poor lighting when the shower curtains were drawn. Unfortunately, the room I had was pretty close to the main street, so the bathroom window managed to bring in a lot of the traffic noise (even when it was closed; but if you closed the bathroom door though, you wouldn't hear the traffic outside). The walls are thin enough so that I heard the TV and chatter in my neighbor's room on as well as the doors opening and closing. Nonetheless, I fell fast asleep and stayed that way until early morning (I'm usually a heavy sleeper at home but tend to be a lighter sleeper when I'm away from home). The breakfast service did indeed include waffles! The best part was the woman who helped make (and serve) the waffles (a big one or 4 quarter-sized ones made in the electric cast iron flip/twist griddles). She was extremely friendly and checked to see if I would like more waffles even after I finished my (large) meal. Overall though, the room and service was worth the price ($59+taxes).
