“Dirty and Noisy”

I originally booked this hotel because my mother passed and I live 400 miles away. Upon check in, I noticed the walkways had gum and spills on them, the doors were worn and dirty, paint was missing and cigarette smoke filled the lobby. The attached bar was loud and patrons were smoking illegally inside, hence the smoke in the lobby. The only reason I was giving this place a try was because I was checked into the rear building, away from the smelly, loud bar in the front building. When I went to park, it was a joke, because most of the spots were compact and I had a full size pick up. Then there was the fact that a few full size parking spots were barricaded off, with no apparent reason, other than employees wanting prime spots. When I walked into the building, I was immediately face to face with a solid wall, which was dirty and had damaged tiles on it. Hard turn right and then left to the elevator. In the room, no liners in the trash cans, vanity light fixture falling down, hair on the bath floor, bath door dragged on the floor and was dirty. Sheer window curtain was dirty and torn and blackout curtain should have been replaced years ago. Carpet was dirty and stained. Lamp shades stained. Then came the shower. I learned real fast to anticipate a flux between scalding hot water to freezing cold. Did I mention the tub surround tile grout was suppose to be white, but was stained with blue chemicals and the tub itself was damaged. Looking out the window, I always had a great view of the trash bin wide open, since staff just couldn't seem to close the lids. One night, the hotel staff decided to sell too few rooms on my floor to a group of 25 loud, obnoxious, inconsiderate persons I have ever had to put up with in a hotel. I called the front desk 3 times, but the noise continued. This was the epitome of this hotel's managers and staff lack of good judgement all along. Upon check out, I left a letter for a manager named Dianne, asking she call me, but she never did. Nice!
