“Do not honor reservation type”

I booked a King suite with 2 double beds and a pullout sofabed. For myself, my partner, our infant twins and a friend. The hotel is advertized as pet friendly. I had my dachshund puppy. When I checked in I was downgraded to a suite with one double bed and a pullout sofa because the room I had reserved was not a "pet room" .I was not compensated for the inconvenience nor was I offered a lower room rate for the obviously lower level accommodation. If i stayed there with my dog I would be charged and additional $250! When I showed them the reservation the attitude was basically, "too bad". My partner looked the hotel up on yelp and saw the 2 star designation. When she mentioned that, Kelly (one of the front desk workers) stated "Maybe you should have listened to that". Totally unprofessional. When we got to the room, there was a distinct, unpleasant odor. There was a wall AC in the "Living room" area, but in the bedroom there was a portable AC which did not cool the room very well and the water receptacle had to be emptied every 2-3 hours or it would stop cooling. Needless to say, not a very restful sleep. The television connection was poor, most of the channels had static. The bed was unstable. When we sat at the foot of the bed, the head almost came of the floor. Finally, the internet did not work. I WILL NEVER STAY AY THIS HOTEL AGAIN! The staff is unprofessional and the rooms are suboptimal.
