“Good value, but many dificiencies make it not worthwhile”

I frequently stay at various hotels, usually for a week at a time. When i found a room at Ramada offered at $55, I could not pass it up. Although the low price was a suspect, I bought into the Ramada's reputation. Unfortunately, I had few problems: 1) As soon as I walked in, I had to keep the door open and turn on the fan to ventilate the strong chemical smell out of the room. {cleaning agents?} 2) The bed was not very comfortable and pillows were lumpy. 3) On the second night, I found a large amount of dark lint transferred from the old carpet a night before. They didn't bother to clean it up or change the sheet. 4) The very next morning at exactly 7AM, I was rudely awaken by jack hammer noise just outside of my room. I looked out and saw a construction crew working in the swimming pool. When I mentioned this problem, the answer from the front desk was "We have to do what we have to do." I didn't think this is not the right attitude to show to customers. The noisy part of the construction could be done during the day when guests are out. I decided to check out a day early and more to another hotel nearby. Now Ramada brand means something completely different in my mind.
