“Nothing to get excited over.”

We got a good deal on the hotel for one night so we decided to use it on New Years Eve and requested to have a street view. We were expecting it to be quite loud since the hotel's right on Granville Street and the hotel was sold out that night as well so unfortunately we didn't even end up even getting a room with a view. Not only that, our room was on the first floor and we were right by the elevators. Given the circumstances, we tried to give it the benefit of the doubt but our experience was horrible and I've stayed at other hotels Downtown on NYE and never had it this bad. The room was incredibly small and the walls were extremely thin; we could hear everything. With that being said, you can't turn the TV volume up past 16 either. I can't see us staying here again on NYE, let alone any other weekend. You could hear the club downstairs in full swing until 3am; I can't imagine having to hear that if I was staying here on just any other night. If you do happen to get a room near the elevator, I would definitely recommend to see if they can switch your room because one elevator is older than the other, and it is incredibly annoying. Our room's main light also kept flickering once turned off which was also frustrating. As for parking, it comes out to about $19 with taxes and you have to park your car yourself, and once parked, you have to surrender your key to Reception in case they need to move your car. This was something that's never happened to us before and we just couldn't understand why but that's their rule for parking in their lot. On the ticket it also mentions that your car may be subject to street parking. Our car was no longer parked in the same spot next morning so they did in fact move it when we felt it wasn't necessary. Overall, it was not the greatest experience.
