“Okay, I gotta start paying more.”

  , Los Angeles
I used to think Ramada was at least trying to be somewhat upscale. But face it, when your key cards have ads for Papa Johns Pizza, you're taking your cues from Motel 6. And frankly a place like this one puts the nail in the coffin of this brand for me. Now I will say everyone there was friendly, and the room wasn't disgusting. And it was cheap, a lot cheaper than I expected to pay. But it's just depressing to walk along long, dim suspended ceiling corridors with stained carpets and wallpaper peeling up and thinking yup, this is all I can manage. They gave us credit at the attached (literally attached) Dennys which was generous, but there isn't a single healthy thing on the menu and I finally just walked out, preferring to go hungry. An experience I'm not angling to repeat. And I pity Ramada for falling to such depths.
