“Atrocious”

The rooms were located right near the swimming pool and the chlorine smell was so overwhelming that it burnt your eyes and gave my mother a headache. We had ajoining rooms and the door between the two rooms had been damaged - like someone had tried to hatched thru the door to the other room. The chair in my mother's room was broken - couldn't be sat in at all. The light switches did not work. The exhaust fan in the bathroom in our room was throwing hot air. The bedspread on our bed was dirty. So I went to the desk and ask for other rooms. They could not accommodate us with 2 rooms so they gave us 1 room with 2 queen beds which worked fine except again the light switch didn't work and the toilet seat was broken. The rooms were not clean - just very unsanitary. Everything needs updated - and I was told by the very indignant night clerk that the hotel was being renovated and she was sorry. Her attitude was totally unacceptable. So I then told her we would be leaving in the morning, as I had planned on staying for an additional 2 nights. She became very offensive and told me I would have to pay for 2 rooms since that is what I requested. So I did with no objection. In the am, the manager was on duty at the desk and she was wonderful. So pleasant and apologetic for all we had encountered. She too told us the place was being renovated which we already knew. But she did offer us 10% discount on the rooms, which I felt was ok. Other hotels (not all) give you a total refund when you are not satisfied with your accommodations but the manager was so very nice I was happy with her offer.
