“Concerns with hotel maintenance”

We were travelling with 10 additional families for a hockey tournament. The hotel was sold out with 3 different hockey teams. 4 of our team members had issues with their hotel room doors - either they didn't lock, or they couldn't be unlocked. Hotel staff kept saying it was something wrong with the lock mechanism and needed new batteries. At one point they advised they could try to move to a different room. At another point, once the hotel was full, they advised there was nothing they could do. Not once did they say they would have maintenance come and look at it. Never once did they say this was unacceptable. Never once did they attempt to resolve - our team members had to request compensation. One family the master key wouldn't even work - there was no way to get into the room at all.One family had to have their key cards re-progammed three times, only to find out it still didn't work. Most likely they slept their first night in an unlocked room! If the handle was pressed, from the exterior of the room, it unlocked the deadbolt automatically. When the family realized this, they complained - the front lobby staff didn't know how to fix and told them they'd have to wait until the next staff member came in for their shift! Completely unacceptable. And to top it off, upon check out, they were only willing to compensate by $30/night. It was only when another family complained did they compensate more - but only to the tune of 1 night free.We found out later that people from other teams were also experiencing similar issues with some of their rooms.This hotel is not that old. And I've been to other Ramada's - its a great experience. But it seems like this hotel has issues with communicating and documenting, as well as maintaining their facility.
