Southeast Asia, sometimes abbreviated to SEA, is a sub-region of Asia, consisting of the countries that are geographically south of China, east of India and north of Australia.
SEA has long been a favorite corner of the world for globe-tramping backpackers; well-known for its tropical climate, warm (or hot!) all year around, rich culture, gorgeous beaches, tasty cuisine, low prices, and good air connections.
The equatorial parts of Southeast Asia have only two seasons with the dry season somewhat hotter (up to 40?C) and the wet season somewhat cooler (down to 25?C). However, in Indochina, the seasons can be broken down into hot, wet and dry, with the relatively cool dry season from November to February or so being the most popular with tourists. However, even in the "wet" season, the typical pattern is sunny mornings with a short (but torrential) shower in the afternoon.
With various exotic destinations in this region, Bali, Bangkok, and Phuket are among the top places visited by travelers around the world!
